And I wish I could give you a definitive answer, a specific time frame, a number of days, etc., but I can’t.
There are way too many variables that go into the formula of self-treating your plantar injury and doing so in a short period of time.
One of the biggest factors is how soon can you get your calf muscles stretched out and keep them stretched out.
Think about it…
Your fascia under your heel is connected to your heel bone.
It meshes in with the Achilles tendon that wraps under your heel from the back side of your lower leg.
That Achilles is attached to your calf muscle, and if your calf is at all tight, it pulls on the Achilles which can pull tighter on your fascia under your heel.
Tightness in any of those areas makes it really tough for your fasciitis (the injured area of your fascia) to have a chance to heal.
So, it’s one thing to get your calves, your hamstrings, and your quads good and stretched out during a stretching session, but it’s a completely other thing to be able to maintain that stretched out position throughout the day.
The longer you can maintain that stretched out position over the course of hours, the less cycle you go through of stretching and then contracting (where your muscles get shorter) and pulling tight again on your tendon and fascia.
Again, let’s address the title of this post. How Long Will It Take To Cure My Plantar Injury?
Once you get your legs stretched out, and I can show you what’s helped me the most, you’ve got a real chance of quickly healing.
Being pain free within a week is very doable.
But you’ve got to put in some time getting and then maintaining a stretched out position in your legs.
