If you’ve ever suffered through a bout of plantar fasciitis, you know just how physically painful that injury is and how depressing you can become.

My last plantar injury was over 15 years ago, and that one took me nearly a year to finally get fixed.

Man, that was so painful. I tried playing a few tournament matches and was just about reduced to tears. Crawling around the house in the middle of the night just to go to the bathroom was obviously a sure sign that I needed serious help.

One of the big mistakes I made was not doing enough specific plantar fasciitis treatment stretches.

http://plantar-fasciitis-fix.com/plantar-fasciitis-treatment-program/

In fact, I was doing the opposite of stretching, I was strengthening my calves thinking that I had to get my legs stronger to be able to treat my plantar injury.

Wrong.

The strengthening was making my calves stronger, but it was also temporarily shortening them. Calves that are strong and not stretched out pull tighter on your Achilles tendon which wraps around under your heel and pulls tighter on your plantar fascia connection.

If anything is pulling tightly on that plantar fascia connection, you never give the inflammation a chance to heal.

So, what eventually worked for me was to finally do a set of specific plantar fasciitis treatment stretches.

I do those stretches every day of my life now. It takes 5 minutes, and along with the ankle wraps (with an attached strap that is like taping), I’ve been able to avoid another plantar fasciitis injury.

If you’re currently suffering through a plantar fasciitis injury or if you’re concerned about getting this nasty injury, check out my recommended plantar fasciitis treatment stretches and treatment aids.

http://plantar-fasciitis-fix.com/plantar-fasciitis-treatment-program/

Your thoughts? Ever had a plantar injury? If so, describe it and what you did to eventually overcome it.

I’ve had two plantar fasciitis injuries. The last one was over 15 years ago, and yet that last plantar injury took me a long time to heal because I was trying to strengthen my legs as a way to overcome the pain.

And specifically I was tring to strengthen my calf muscles by mostly doing heel raises.

Not only was this strengthening activity causing more pain, but it was also aggravating the inflamed area where my fascia connected to my heel bone.

I was in effect making my plantar injury worse…

Once I stopped trying to strengthen as a way of treating my plantar injury and started focusing on stretching, my plantar pain started to quickly subside.

Strengthening is an important element of preventing a future injury, but it’s not what you want to do to treat the injury.

Stretch to heal, and once you’re healed, strengthen to prevent.

When I had my 2nd plantar injury over 15 years ago, I decided that a visit to the podiatrist was the answer.

He quickly & highly recommended a pair of custom made orthotics.

Long story short, I was in so much pain back then that I just said what the heck, was custom fit for $500 “athletic” orthotics, and 3 days was later was in more pain and agony than I’d been in before.

I figured I just had to get used to them, and an even longer story short, about a week or so later I spent a weekend of playing in a tennis tournament in Carmel Vally, and I literally had to crawl to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

My heel pain was greater than it had ever been before – absolute agony.

Once I started asking around, I discovered I wasn’t the lone ranger.

Lots of other folks out there as it turned out had paid a boat load for orthotics that wound up just making their plantar fasciitis injury worse.

A close friend suggested I try an ankle wrap instead, and voila, the pain started to ease up.

What I’ve found is that stretching out your arch really helps relieve the pain from a plantar fasciitis injury, and the more you can keep your arch stretched out, the better chance you have of healing it.

Orthotics in theory stretch it out by pushing your arch up, BUT, the big problem is your body weight is completely counter balancing the orthotic push because gravity is forcing your body weight back down on top of the orthotic push.

The ankle wrap pulls your arch up, doesn’t push it up like an orthotic, and the pulling throughout the day gives your arch a nice gentle stretch.

If you haven’t already done so, gone over to amazon and pick up the Futuro brand ankle wrap which comes with an attached strap where you can customize the amount of pull. Click here.

Quick personal story – I’ve been going along for well over 15 years without another Plantar Fasciitis injury, and last week I went hill (stairs actually) running for the first time in months.

I was over at the Berkeley Tennis Club, had just finished up a few sets of doubles, and thought, you know, a little post match hill training might be really good for me.

So I strapped on the running shoes, and headed out behind the club where the Claremont Hotel has this great set of steps that you can run up and down.

Because it had been awhile since the last time I’d been running there, I limited myself to just 15 minutes.

Everything went fine, I felt great, and I got back to the club, showered up, and walked towards my car to go home.

And just as sure as anything, the bottom of my left heel started to have this really sharp pain, it wouldn’t stop, it just kept getting worse, and I knew immediately what it was, another frickin plantar fasciitis injury.

I was pissed at myself because I’ve been a little lazy recently with my daily arch & stretching routine. It only takes 3 minutes a day, but you know how it goes, we make little excuses and some things just don’t get done.

I turned around and went back to the club, got out my stretching strap, and went through my daily arch stretching routine but did it for at least 20 minutes.

Usually I only do the stretch strap for a few minutes a day.

And thank my lucky stars, the pain was gone. I walked to the car, and as I was driving home, all I could think about was the fact that I have to make sure I do my daily 3-5 minute arch and calf stretching routine to keep another plantar fasciitis injury at bay.

So, whew, my heel’s been fine ever since, but I must admit, I got a pretty good scare.

I’d almost forgotten just how painful a plantar fasciitis injury is.

If you’re still suffering with a plantar injury, get on my program today and let’s put an end to your pain.

My wife Mai and I have a couple of lovable critters, Bob & Allie, and one of our favorite things to do is take them for a walk after dinner.

When when of my customers writes back to me and is happy that my plantar fasciitis treatment program has helped them, I’m obviously very pleased.

But there’s a special extra “alright!” when I hear back from someone who has been suffering with their plantar fasciitis and is now healed and back to enjoying walking their dogs.

Here’s a recent email I received from Jerry who is back out there pain free walking (abd apparently sometimes jogging after) his and his wife’s two German Shepherds.

Hi Brent,

My wife insisted today that I write you and thank you for helping me finally get over my almost year long struggle with my plantar fascia problem.

I know that you & Mai are dog lovers. The same goes for my wife Jeannie and I as we have two German Shepherds that are our babies!

Due to my plantar fasciitis, not only were our dogs missing me on our twice daily walks, but Jeannie was too. Walking the dogs for her eventually had become tedious, frustrating, and lonely.

When I initially come down with my plantar injury, I tried like heck to keep up with the dogs and her, but it just became too darn painful, and I just had to give it up.

That was pretty difficult for me to watch Jeannie and the dogs head on out the door without me.

It was Jeannie who finally came back from another walk without me and insisted that I go find a solution to my injury on the internet.

I signed up for your free tips and bought your program that very first day.

It took me just about one week to feel completely pain free. That’s when I wrote to you asking your advice about when to try to go back to walking the dogs with Jeannie.

Your advice really helped me Brent and I am now walking every day with our dogs, even sometimes jogging, and needless to say, my wonderful wife is no longer lonely out there by herself with the dogs!

I thank you. Jeannie thanks you. And if they could, I’m sure Tipper and Frankie would also like to say thank you!

Best to you and Mai.

Jerry L., Los Angeles CA

Now there’s a story I can really relate well to because if I had to give up walking at night with our dogs and Mai, I’d be in a world of hurt.

If you’re missing quality time with your critters or some other favorite activity, pick up my guaranteed program now.

Stop sitting on the sidelines in pain and missing out on all of those things you want to be doing. Click here to put an end to your plantar fasciitis pain.

I got a really nice email from one of my customers yesterday who expressed her thanks to be able to get back out there on the shopping circuit!

No kidding, her plantar fasciitis injury had kept her cooped up inside to where she was unable to spend time with her daughters doing one of their favorite activities – window shopping, having lunch, and just getting out there in public and hanging out together.

I’m not the biggest shopper in the world, but I do like to spend time with my wife and my kids when they do their shopping thing and just listen to them interact and enjoy their time together.

When you’re suffering through plantar fasciitis pain, your choice is to sit home and miss out on quality family time together or go out there with them and suffer through the pain.

Not a great choice.

No heel pain, lots of laughing…

“Dear Brent,

Shopping, especially with my two daughters when they are home from college, is one of my favorite things to do with them.

I want to thank you for giving me that joy back!

Before I purchased your treatment, I had put up with my plantar heel pain for almost a year. During that time I had tried on many occasions to go shopping with my girls but the pain had become unbearable.

I finally had to stop going with them which broke my heart and I know they felt sorry for me.

Our family doctor had tried to help me, but nothing he recommended helped.

After several months, my husband found your website and bought your treatment program for me.

That was only 11 days ago and I was feeling much better after 3 days of implementing your stretches.

My daughters and I took a lunch & shopping trip yesterday for the first time in months and what a wonderful time we had!

No heel pain, lots of laughing, and best of all, I feel as if I really have the solution to my plantar fascia injury.

Thank you again Brent so much for your help.

What a relief!”

Betty C., San Mateo, CA

If you’re still unable to enjoy shopping or other social time with your family or friends because you’re having to stay home when everyone else is going out, pick up your copy of my plantar fasciitis treatment now and let’s take a few days to eliminate the inflammation pain and get you back out there enjoying all of your favorite activities.

What favorite activities have you been missing since your plantar fasciitis injury has kept you on the sidelines?

Being a full time athlete, I am always pleased to hear back from other athletes who have had success with my plantar fasciitis treatment.

When you’re suffering through a plantar fasciitis injury, having to take time away from training or even daily hobbies such as walking the dog, shopping, whatever it is, that time off can get really frustrating very quickly.

“Hi Brent,

I have always meant to give you an update(s), on a more regular basis, of how I have be going with my running since using your system to help overcome plantar fasciitis.

It was back in June 2009 when I first started with your suggestions. I also knew that because of my event schedule that absolute relief was not going to be as quick compared to taking more time off from training.

Since June I have completed a further 8 marathons, six of those between 3:10.46, (an age group, 55-59, pb) and 3:15.57.

Last weekend’s Marathon was a ‘solid 3:12.32’, (had just come off eight weeks of endurance work).

And the injury.

Up to end of November it persisted to some degree, but mostly there was a steady improvement.

Training wise it was very good, some of the ‘quicker marathons’ did seem to aggravate the condition, resulting in a more sustained and diligent following of your program.

And that is the bottom line for me, if I ever backed off from your suggestions, in particular the regular stretching exercises and icing, I paid a price.

The last 3 months have been very good, little pain, resulting in some good training blocks.

I am now confident that a sub 3:05 can be achieved within the next few months.

And beyond that, well with your help and some hard work on the training road, improvement I believe will follow.

Hope all is going well for you. All the best.

Regards,”

Lester Smith, South Australia

Lester is a world class senior marathoner. Are you kidding me? Running 26+ miles in a hair over 3 hours at his age?

Come on folks, if Lester can beat his plantar fasciitis injury with as much training as he does, so can you.

If you’re an athlete, from a weekend warrior to a world class athlete like Lester, hey, it doesn’t matter, it’s tough to give up any time away from your sport.

And I’ll admit that one of the very tough things to do with a plantar injury is to take enough time off to allow the healing process to start.

Taking time off doesn’t have to mean that sit around all day on your butt doing nothing absolutely nothing, nope, in fact, there are lots of ways to stay active and get a good workout without having to put stress on your plantar injury.

But we’re not talking about a lot of time here. A week. Maybe less, but enough time to start to knock out the inflammation and get rid of the pain.

Lester mentioned stretching, and one of the big keys to Phase 1 of my plantar fasciitis treatment is active stretching.

We don’t leg strengthen in Phase 1 because leg strengthening shortens calf muscles which pull tighter on your plantar fascia and that simply continues the inflammation cycle.

Pick up your copy of my guaranteed plantar fasciitis treatment.

Looking forward to helping you,

Brent

Sticking to a routine. I believe that for long term success, a plantar injury needs to be treated with routines, not quick fix solutions such as cortisone.

Just received this email from one of my customers…

“I just wanted to send you a quick note to let you know that I am having great results with your program.

I am a massage therapist and got PF due to overtraining. I was doing a lot of self-care and was definitely keeping it from getting worse, but I know my body, and it was not getting better.

For me, it’s the repetition and consistency of the input to the tissues and brain throughout the day that is making the difference.

I feel in just a few days I’m about 75% improved.

And I’m enjoying the protocol a lot, it connects me to my healing process and I’m happy to commit to doing it for awhile.

Thank you for your tenacity in developing this for yourself and now for sharing it with others. As I occasionally see clients with PF you can be sure I will be directing them to your website to get your treatment plan for themselves.”

Sincerely,

Valerie O. – Tumwater WA

Repetition… You just read how Valerie enjoys the protocol, the practice of the routine, and it’s clearly paying off for her.

The folks who have success with my program are those people who can stick to a simple repetitive routine.

When I recommend that you take 5 minutes every couple of hours to do a specific set of stretches, doing those stretches for an hour once a day doesn’t work.

Lots of people believe that more is better, and that is they spend more time treating in a shorter time period, well, that’ll be the magic elixir for them.

It doesn’t work that way.

And that’s not an easy discipline to stick to – this is a practice, throughout the day, and when you start my program, you might feel that my recommendations aren’t enough because you’re not feeling immediate results.

You probably won’t feel much difference the first day, that’s normal.

But when you allow the healing to take place on its own, within its own time depending on so many unique reasons (unique referring to your specific injury), then good things can happen for you.

If you feel you can stick to a simple routine a few times a day, and not overdo the routine in desperation for wanting results right this very minute, then my proven plantar pain relief program will have a very good chance of helping you get back to all of those activities that you’ve been missing while you’ve been suffering through your plantar pain.

- Brent’s 3 Phase Treatment Program For Plantar Fasciitiss Pain Relief –

1 – Eliminate Inflammation & Pain, 2 – Light Strengthening, 3 – Future Prevention
